EMBEDDING FONTS IN POWERPOINT

To be certain that your PowerPoint presentation displays correctly on another PC or laptop, use the following instructions. These instructions are based upon creating a new presentation and using only True Type fonts. If you are working with an existing program or importing slides from other programs that may not have used True Type fonts, there is an option in powerpoint to convert all the fonts in the presentation to a particular font. If you are to do this, it is recommended that you do so with a copy of your presentation. As you change the fonts, you will alter the layout of individual slides. You can also manually highlight text on a slide and change it to an appropriate True Type font.

  1. Select True Type fonts from the font menu - preferably as you begin to build your presentation. These are fonts that have the letters TT alongside the font name. Go to Format and select font and the font list will appear.

  2. To Embed these fonts in your presentation go to file Save As:

  3. In the dialogue box, click on Embed TrueType.

  4. You can use the Pack-and-Go choice to embed fonts and other linked documents. This will make the file size larger but at least you will have all the components of your program accessible.
